Account Information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. We store this in our database to identify your account.

Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the Service, including articles you view, like, save, and comment on. We also collect view counts per article.

Cookies & Sessions: We use cookies to maintain your login session. See our Cookie Policy for details.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and maintain the Service
To authenticate your identity via Google OAuth
To display your name and avatar alongside your comments
To save your liked and bookmarked articles
To improve the Service based on usage patterns
To send important service-related communications (no marketing without consent)

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure (hosted on AWS). All data is encrypted at rest and in transit using TLS. Supabase complies with GDPR and SOC 2 standards.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with third parties except:

Supabase: Our database and authentication provider
Google: For OAuth authentication only
Legal requirements: If required by law or valid legal process

5. Third-Party Content

Articles may display images from Unsplash and videos from Pexels. These are served directly from their CDNs. Viewing this content may allow those services to collect your IP address per their privacy policies.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access: Request a copy of your personal data
Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
Deletion: Request deletion of your account and data
Portability: Receive your data in a portable format
Objection: Object to processing of your data

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

8. Children's Privacy

REEDL_ is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us immediately.

9. GDPR (EU Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under GDPR. Our legal basis for processing your data is legitimate interest (providing the Service) and your consent (where applicable). You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
